Katerina Alexaki is a theater practitioner and educator. She is also co founder of Artika theater company, a non profit cultural and educational organization based in Greece and member of Eclipses Group Theater New York.
Her diverse credits as a theater director include contemporary plays, musicals, performance and theater for very small children. Her productions has been staged in New York at Wild Project and in Athens at National Theater of Greece, Musical Stage Athina, Booze, Artika, Kinky Kong, Studio Mavromihali and in Between the Seas Festival (New York), Isfahan International Theater Festival (Iran) and International Theater Festival for Children (Romania)
As an actress she played in productions of ancient drama as well as modern authors and colaborated with Zhisan Ugurlu, Akina Stathaki, Sotiri Hatzaki, Kosta Tsiano, Mania Papadimitriou, Stathi Livathino and Eleni Alexandraki and performed in Epidaurus Theater, Herodion Theater, National Theater of Greece, Hearst Greek Theatre in San Francisco and La MaMa ETC, in New York.
As an educator she has worked at Academy of Hellenic Paideia at New York.
As a vocalist she worked with Mairi Esper, Niko Androulaki, Thodori Abazi, Mavrothi Kontani and she was a member of the new age group Iris. She appeared in various music scenes and also at the festival Make Music New York.
Her work has been granted from the European Community, the Greek Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Employment and Social Protection in Greece for groundbreaking work about women who lives with their babies in prison.
She is an MA Candidate at the Applied Theater Program at SPS CUNY. She is a graduate of the Department of Drama, Theatre & Dance at Queens College - CUNY, from the Laboratory of Directing of the National Theater οf Greece, and Arhi drama school. She also studied piano and singing at the National Conservatory of Athens and at the Atheneum conservatory, photography at the Akto College and interior architecture and design at Plaka arts center.
A proud mother of twin girls, lives in New York and in Athens, Greece.

Ως ηθοποιός έχει δουλέψει σε έργα αρχαίου δράματος, καθώς και σύγχρονου ρεπερτορίου και έχει συνεργαστεί με τους σκηνοθέτες: Zhisan Ugurlu, Ακτίνα Σταθάκη, Σωτήρη Χατζάκη, Κώστα Τσιάνο, Μάνια Παπαδημητρίου, Στάθη Λιβαθηνό και Ελένη Αλεξανδράκη και έχει παίξει σε αρκετές αθηναικές σκηνές καθώς και στο θέατρο του Ηρωδείου, της Επιδαύρου, του Εθνικού και του Hearst Greek Theatre στo Σαν Φρανσίσκο oπως και στο La MaMa ETC στην Νέα Υόρκη, των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών.
Εχει εργαστεί ως παιδαγωγός διδάσκωντας θέατρο και ελληνική γλώσσα, στο Academy of Hellenic Paideia και το Archangel Michael Greek School στην Νέα Υόρκη και ιδιωτικά στην Αθήνα.
Αποτελούσε μέλος του συγκροτήματος Ίρις με τους οποίους ηχογράφησε τρία cd και ως τραγουδίστρια έχει συνεργαστεί με την Μαίρη Έσπερ, τον Νίκο Ανδρουλάκη, τον Θωδωρή Αμπαζή και τον Μαυρουδή Κοντάνη με το μουσικό σχήμα του οποίου εμφανίστηκε και στο φεστιβάλ μουσικής Make Music New York.
Η δουλειά της έχει επιχορηγηθεί απο την Ευρωπαική Κοινότητα καθώς και απο το Υπουργείο Εργασίας και απο το Υπουργείο Απασχόλησης και Κοινωνικής Προστασίας για την παρουσίαση της performance "0-3 στη φυλακή" με θέμα τις μητέρες που ζούνε στην φυλακή με τα νεογέννητα παιδιά τους.
Είναι φοιτήτρια του Μεταπτυχιακού τμήματος Applied Theater του S.P.S CUNY και απόφοιτος του Τμήματος Θεάτρου στο Queens College της Νέας Υόρκης καθώς και της σχολής θεατρικών σπουδών Αρχή, του Εργαστηρίου Σκηνοθεσίας του Εθνικού Θεάτρου, και του τμήματος φωτογραφίας της σχολής ΑΚΤΟ. Εχει επίσης σπουδάσει τραγούδι και πιάνο στο Εθνικό Ωδείο και στο Ωδείο Αtheneum και διακόσμηση στο Κέντρο Τεχνών Πλάκα.
Είναι μητέρα δύο υπέροχων δίδυμων κοριτσιών και μοιράζει το χρόνο της μεταξύ Νέα Υόρκης και Αθήνας.
